Are mixed race children better looking?
Well, I am sure you have heard of that. I am also sure that some people have had interracial relationships for this reason only. Why do people believe that if an interracial couple has children that they will instantly produce beautiful babies?

Is getting into an interracial relationship for the sole reason of getting 'beautiful babies' the right reason to date interracially?

Having a baby of any description is never a good reason to get into a relationship. That's one reason why there are so many unwanted babies and babies being raised by folks who don't have a clue. Even having a baby as an expression of a wonderful loving relationship doesn't always work out for the best for the child but at least it is a good start. Anyone foolish enough to try to engineer skin tone of offspring through mating is ignorant of genetics. Especially with all of the genetic mixing that has gone on over the ages, intentional and on the q.t. Hitler thought the perfect babies were blonde and blue-eyed. Others say those are the traits of the white devil. Making decisions based on skin colour and/or tone has always been ignorant and wrong. This is no different. So if you are planning to make a baby, interracial or otherwise, for that reason, or any equally shallow reasons, do the human race a favor and be sure to use birth control.

Is getting into an interracial relationship for the sole reason of getting ‘beautiful babies’ the right reason to date interracially? Ok, I cut & pasted the question. In my opinion: of course by only wanting a good looking child is not the right reason to date interacially or otherwise. We all know that there are some people who do think that way though. This shows little consideration as they are using there partner as a tool. Right on to Coco & many of you folks who can see past the ignorance. Tiger, I agree this is a dumb question & the constant race issue questions are tiring, but you did write an interesting, intelligent reponse. In the end, these type of questions will always get a reaction, lot's of responses & in the end, entertainment for many which keeps the site going.

Catlady is sitting there playing with herself while she is having black fantasies! Why else would she be on this site for interracial couples? She clearly has an itch that needs to be scratched, and its not by those fleas she has from her cats. God made a race of Humans, and in case you haven't noticed, it doesn't matter what color we are, we all FIT in all the right places. Your ignorance is showing...go educate yourself for goodness sake!

Thats a tough one, but true. my kids are all mixed up they are multiracial and every where they go people are all over them. my son is like a superstar he's 2 and we took him to a few countries and peopled are always asking to take pictures with him. When u mix together, makes the world look beautiful. And maybe it's not good to say different races because it's we are the same race ( human race) And I think thats beautiful! Interracial romance becomes popular now and there are many ways to meet people outside of your own race, i met my husband via a mixed racial dating site, we are happy!

well in the commercial little girls are usually multiracial rather than a real African dark skinned black. Also some people of colour have had terrible experience being pick on treated badly, maybe they just don't want their own kids to go through what they did. Any maybe they see going with someone light is the only real option. i can understand that most parent would want their kids to have the most enjoyable childhood. However, this is just not a strong enough reason to have children with someone light. Having a enjoyable childhood includes others things so having a multiracial experience particular in the c21st is no better or worst than any other skin colour. Come on people, there are people starving in 3rd world countries and in war and we still discussing skin colour..

My comment is for the blogger named CATLADY, I'm kinda confussed, you are contradicting yourself.you are against mixing races, but yet here you are on a interracial web site. you do realize that dont you. move on no one asked you to log on here.people like you need to go live in a cave. and leave the real people alone. you just want some attention. you know you want to try it. you know once you go black you dont go back. and i think that's what you are afraid of... and another thing you are probably one of those people who dont like black skin but yet you tan yourself to get the darker colour. go figure.

P.S. Please ignore CatLady. It's just a troll. Trolls write stuff on blogs/message boards just to raise people's hackles. If your blood is boiling, no matter what you write, you gave CatLady what she was after. In fact, the more you try to refute her utterly nonsensical rantings with logical arguments, the more you establish that you actually think them worthy of refutation, when they aren't even worthy of consideration.

Well I hate to disagree with so many posters on this topic thread, but I know of more than one white person who has specifically said to me that he wanted to have inter-racial kids because he thinks they are the most beautiful kids. Within the black community when I was growing up the light-skinned look of inter-racial kids or black kids who just happened to come out light-skinned was definitely idealized. While black men and women might not choose white partners, they definitely did seem to openly prefer light-skinned partners. Some of it was their own direct attraction without a thought of the kids to be produced, but I do recall at least one occasion where a dark-skinned teenage girl told me she wanted a light-skinned black husband so her kids would come out lighter. That's not so different from wanting a white man for the same reason. So clearly it's not a ridiculous question, though good to see so many people think it is.

Initially a silly question without a right or wrong answer. All children are beautiful as they are regardless of colour, race or gender. To get into a mixed realtionship because you think it will produce more beautiful children is a naive and backward way of thinking, after all you never know what you'll get till it arrives. When it does accept it for the beautiful thing it is.

Maybe I am the opposite Black African American girl. I always thought that dark skin was much more beautiful when I was a child. This was not told to me by my family, but it was what I perceived as beauty. I would look at dark skinned women of all races (except white because I never met a really dark skinned white person) and wish I could have their complexion. It just looked so pure and graceful. Now that I am older I see beauty comes in all colors, but HELL NO. I never thought interracial babies are light skin is much prettier. I think we all are beautiful and yes I am sick of people making the light ones (I used to be really light when I was younger, but I got a bit darker) think they are prettier. They are not prettier, but they are pretty just like any other skin tone.

What difference does it make what color anyone is? There is beauty in everyone if you care to look. This whole thing about mixed kids being better looking is what causes so much division between races. Those kids could care less about their heritage until YOU make them aware of it. If you want to do something productive, try educating those with narrow minds as well as our children about the ignorance of racism and let's move forward.

I agree with Gemini143. I feel that kids whether they are all "black" or all "white" are beautiful children. Being mixed with both races does not automatically make you better looking. I've seen kids that were mixed that didn't look mix. I also agree with BailaMorena that Black Children are beautiful. I think anyone who purposefully have mixed children have a lot of self hate.

I found the comments on here very interesting, how people always understand one simple question as a topic of racism when it comes to skin color. My daughter is of mixed race as well and I look at her as a beautiful woman, because of the person that she is...not only her skin tone. I believe everyone is looking for the right mate to have a child with and looks do matter, because no one would go out there and chose someone ugly to say yessss I want to have his baby. But since we all have a different opinion on what is beautiful or good looking to us... maybe what I find beautiful the next person finds ugly. So in the end we only have to satisfy ourselfs and be happy with what we are doing. What I find sad though is that this funny topic seems to be so offensive to some, that they feel personally attacted. Even this catwoman makes me laugh because I can not take comments like that serious. There will always be ignorant people in this world and we just have to accept it....just like they have to accept there are people who don´t give a damn about their opinion lol

Here's my contribution. My what a lot of tightarsed religious literalist nutters there are out there. The bible is a series of fairy stories written by ignorant storytellers in a pre-scientific age. Give yourselves an education and read chapter 15 of Gibbons History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. Fact: once upon a time about one hundred thousand years ago we were all Africans. I am a white guy and I find on the whole that black girls are more attractive, more elegant, sexier and better behaved than white girls. Some men are only attracted to blondes. So what? The name of the game in life is getting your genes safely into the next generation. If I am lucky enough to have mixed race children they are likely to be healthier because of the good mixture of genes. If you are not convinced about the dangers of breeding too close to home, take a good look at Prince Charles! Besides, in the context of climate change, my mixed race kids will be better protected against getting skin cancer than if they were white.

Like Zion77, I stopped reading at cat lady. If i could say everything that is going through my mind right now to u cat lady, I would be scrubbing my mouth for years. I have a mixed child and u know the sad thing is i have to put up with retarded people like u on a daily basis do to the fact that my daughter has her father's white skin and ocean blue eyes. The criticism is not towards my daughter, it's towards me. My child is living a very blessed life with both of her parents in it, even though her father & I divorced. I wasn't with her father because i wanted a mixed child. I was with her father because i loved him. Personally, I think you have a problem with guys that are not of your race because not only is your personality ugly but you probably are as well. I was thought to value the things that God has given me in life and not take anything for granted and to not hate those who don't know any better. You are one of those people who don't know any better, but it is not in my nature to hate you. Like i do with every negative that i meet like you, I go home and at the end of the night i pray for you. So, I'm going to pray for you and let your mistakes be judged by God.

My kids are both Black boys. My exhusband and I are both black but like most black people, he got indian in his family (ahahaha yall know what i'm talking about) so he got the curly jet black hair. My sons look like the both of us but my youngest took on more of his traits while the oldest has mine. I think both of my kids are GORGEOUS but the youngest one gets all the attention. It's so easy for him to make friends and everyone wants to talk to him. I see the difference in attitudes both of my sons have. The youngest is extremely outgoing and easy to talk to. The oldest has that swagger that makes him mysterious. He keeps to himself and people are drawn to him but in my opinion, it's on more of a deeper level. He's real quiet but when he speaks, people listen. Both are great kids and their dad and I treat them equally and love them the same. I think (know) they don't even see the differences in their looks because we don't bring it up and when someone else brings it up, I let them know that it's unacceptable and not to say anything like that about my children. But skin does play a lot in how others see us. I see it in my own household with 2 black kids of different skin tones. That's why I believe no matter what race your child is, teach them early what's really important, then the world won't matter because they'll have a strong background and knowledge of self. When my children are grown and they start dating, I want them to find a woman like their mother...yes ME. I think that's every mother's wish. And yes, I do mean I want them to date/marry a strong, independent, Black woman. BUT, as long as she loves him and treats him with respect and honors him...she could be purple with 3 legs...ummmm let me re-think that one.

My cousin has a mixed race little boy. Cute as can be but bad as he**. Honestly, I as well as several others believe she had this child by a younger white man so that she could have a fair skinned child. I always knew she never really liked the company much of her darker skinned relatives who were children but adored the fair skinned ones. The sad part is that she allows this child to run wild and thinks it's okay because he is cute. What concerns me is that the world will not be as easy or shallow with him as she.

Okay, I stopped reading at Catlady. First of all if you are going to quote the Bible, get it right. And don't mistake one instance of something as doctrine. I take the Word of God very seriously. I'm not going to get into a big debate about it, but I wish people would actually THINK before they speak. Besides, if God was really against mixed races, why would He put Ruth, a Moabitess with Boaz, a Jew- who became the grandparents of Jesse, who was the father of David, who is an ancestor of Jesus Christ? Are you saying that God thinks His own Son's lineage is wrong? How stupid is that? I'm so mad I forgot the topic! Oh, yeah. I'm one of those people who finds ALL races beautiful. I haven't dated any Asians, but their delicate features and athletic, slender frames are beautiful. Europeans are gifted with a rainbow of eye and hair colors, Africans( that includes us from the States!) are gifted with a rainbow of skin colors...as well as the most fabulous backsides on the planet! LOL! Hispanics and Latins have beautiful hair, skin, and eyes, and voices. It's time to APPRECIATE and CELEBRATE what makes each of us beautiful. And leave it at that. And stop putting YOUR hang ups on God!!

These topic(S) are extremely outdated. I really don't believe America in that behind on interracial/ multiculturalism. (I assume and hope ur not) Of course there will be a few out there that do think this, but there are a few out there that believe for example....( you can fill the gap with something ridiculous like pigs can fly)lol. It really doesn't need to be discussed, especially when it clearly is not a real issue to the majority. ( i think i should just paste this is on most topics on this site lol) all babies/children are all so adorably beautiful and cute. I think if you were to ask this question in the UK adults/teenagers - even children would either look at you like your crazy, and most would think your really ignorant to ask the questions in the first place. I went to a girls school, and there were a number of Multiracial girls who thought they were ugly, this idea of multiracial = beauty in reality really isn’t true. People of all ethnicities think there beautiful, ugly, average etc for all sorts of reason. – ( I know I stating the obvious) Surely, parents/ parent tobe would be more concerned about other IMPORTANT things like the Health of their children, bringing their children up to be intelligent, confident etc. There are SO MUCH MORE topics/issues, current affairs/News, culture, travel business, even politics, media, music, anything but these topics would be more interesting on reading other peoples' opinions from different backgrounds. (Happy Easter everyone - please don't even think about having a topic/question about which type chocolate is better lol(“,)

God created the Tower of Babel and Moses was punished for marrying an Ethiopian (Midianite more specifically)? If people are going to be racist idiots and try to use the Bible to back it up you'd think they'd at least do enough study to get their story kinda right. You, cat lady, are not in the ballpark with your interpretation. Not in the same league. Not even in the same sport. It's fascinating how one can take a biblical viewpoint against racism and somehow forget that based on that view people of all colors were generated from two individuals.

Cat Lady, although this is the 21st century, your thinking is still behind two hundred years. Get familiar with the most recent publications on genetics, so could learn what science is discovering about ethnic groups. You must hope that you will never need an organ transplant from a black/or a non white person, since you show such prejudice. The Bible that I read tells about mercy , compassion and love towards all, maybe you are reading a very different version. As far as mixed children- looking so-so, beautiful people come in all colors, just like a garden must have variety and several shades.

I don't know who comes up with these topics but I personally find them ignorant and offensive. There is no such thing as interracial children looking better than pure black children or pure white children, besides to me all children are beautiful. My sister told me a few years ago that I see all children as beautiful and if I had to be remembered for something that would be it. The most beautiful person or child in the world doesn't necessary mean that it's a happy child, so a happy child is far more important than his looks. Just because this is a interracial site, doesn't mean that everything has to be about color, at times I feel like I am in slavery time or the 1960's when the color of black people's skin had to be very light and this has put a wedge between our race of blacks, so don't start a new problem with interracial children because they have always exsisted, only difference was that black women were forced to have their master's babies so stop making it seem like it just started. One more thing you can only speak and feel this way because whites are doing it and it is acceptable where it wasn't in slavery times. Please stop bringing some of these crazy topics to us.

There really is no telling what kids will turn out like anyway. I have seen beautiful people of all races that have had some really not good looking kids. I have also seen some ugly people with really beautiful kids. However I may be biased but my daughter who is mixed is the most beautiful girl in the world! By the way, for her to say how "terrible looking" bi-racial kids are is actually an insult to the very God that created Cat Lady because it was God who created these "terrible looking" children. She talks as though she knows what "real love" is, but yet she has shown by her example what "real love" isn't. So who is she to say what real love is when she has no love in her own heart, and I know for a fact that God would love all of us, and not just people like Cat Lady who bring much emptiness and ugliness into the world with such cruel thoughts or behaviors.

Something tells me that CatLady married someone outside her race. ;) By the way, interracial breeding is not like cats and dogs getting together because those are two different animals. People of all races are the same....... we are all people, and also we are all created by God. As for the cats and dogs analogy, It'd be more accurate if you compared different breeds of dogs(or any other animal) mingling together because they are of the same species. :) One thing I must say about CatLady is that God made a commandment about judging others, and in my opinion she has committed the greater offense than what she claims Moses did.

To Cat Lady - not only are your comments offensive but your remarks about the bible are out right lies. Moses was never punished for marrying Zippora (aka the Ethiopian); his sister Miriam was however struck with leprosy for speaking against Moses' marriage. And the tower of babel had absolutely nothing to do with race; it was a message sent to man about the dangers of one vs the many. The tower of babel was reinforcing the idea that the many should carry and support a very select few. Because there is enough for all of us, there shouldn't be a small entitled group at the top. Anyways imbecelics like you are so apt to read the bible and interpret it in the most unsofisticated manner. Your mind is crude and you're an embarrassment. Besides there isn't a person alive who isn't a half breed of one style or another. You, catlady, are half your mother and half your father. Race is an imaginary system that is meant to make you focus on all the things that separate us. Last thought - if you're really against interacial relationships how the heck did you find this website? You're apparently a fat hypocrite too, go back to your stupid cats.

Interacial dating and marriage is wrong. one thing brought up was a dog was a dog. Yes they are, but they do not mix with a cow or a cat do they. The kids produced are not treated well and the bible teaches if any of you read it that mixing is not of God. He created the tower of bable to separate the people and he punished Moses for marring the Ethopian, so if it was wrong for Moses, it wrong for everyone else. Also it does not always produce light skinned nice looking kids. Some of these kids are terrible looking, you should think of what the kids will go through and marry your own or date your own kind. The ones that marry do not love each other, they don't know what real love is.

I am a mixed race child and so is my son. We are often categorized as black or african american...whatever you prefer. My parents didn't get together because they wanted to mass produce light skinned children with green eyes because they are better looking and I didn't marry my ex, who is Irish, in order to continue the legacy. There are unattractive people in every race regardless of how much you water down the skintone. So using that as an excuse to marry is asinine. That slavery mentality that girlsixdiva mentioned is still very much alive in our culture and a lot of dark skinned black women will snub a lighter skinned black woman only because of her skin color, hair, eyes, etc. I've had it happen many times by complete strangers and it does hurt your feelings, however, I'm at an age now where I'm not going to lose sleep over it. If you don't care to meet the person that skin is covering then don't assume anything about me. Our society has a lot of racial issues that have not and probably will never be addressed but perhaps with this next generation which is overrun with bi-racial children things will change. Until then, quit feeding the fire, most interracial couples marry because they love one another not because they want to play Russian roulette with the gene pool.

It's sad but true that a lot of people, usually women (of all races) will date a man of another color just because of the color of the children that will be produced. And it's also evident on TV. Most of the movies and tv shows that have a black girl as a main character will cast the girl as a really light skinned girl with long hair, or a hispanic girl. It all goes back to that slavery mentality with the lighter skinned slaves getting the better treatment.

Wow! I know that there are some people who think this. It's obvious in media that society thinks that lighter skinned blacks are better looking. But just because a person comes out one color doesn't mean they are of mixed heritage. You should know better than to perpetuate this myth on white people and feel ashamed. It's not like skin color is paint: you don't put in 1/2 brown, 1/4 pink 1/4 yellow and get a hispanic-looking light skinned 'black' child. The sad thing is people use color to determine race, I could've sworn there was only one- the human race. I mean, remember in the early days in America when pale white looking 'blacks' would pass for white to avoid slavery then to avoid getting lynched cause they wanted to simply use a bathroom or water fountain or get something to eat? I'm sure all of us have someone in the family who looks 'white' or some whites have a relative who everyone makes jokes about having black features. I know asians and hispanics do too. When we classify animals in science, we aren't so discriminating. A shepard is still a dog. A collie is a dog... and so on. You don't compare cats to dogs or apples to oranges. Like an golden delicious apple to a roma apple, both are still apples. So, why are we saying that just because the color of the 'apple'(human) or origin makes us different? Blood is still blood, hair is still hair, eyes are still eyes. Most of all, ignorance is still ignorance... and it isn't bliss. We humans debate this crap over and over, but its really only about one thing: economics and how to keep certain people from having it by using racism and sexism or any other ism-weapon you can. We strive to say :"I'm number one!" But that's why we are so ready to judge each other on other things, too. Because we were taught as children to put someone down so we could rise to the top and since there's only room for one (so we've been told)... When are we going to get over it already??? Ria, when are you gonna either grow mentally to think outside of the box? Race this, color that... damn let me know when you're onto a new subject 'cause really I don't know about anyone else out there but I've reached my tolerance level again with answering these stupid purely 'journalistic delving' columns just to get a few points. The question of color and race is always going to come up so long as everyone allows it to be a concern... I like to think of it artistically. If only black and white existed for an artist- what a boring picture. More boring is if this is a subject for debate 20000 yrs from now.
