This happened to me . He’ll text but doesn’t call . So I don’t call either and now I joined a dating site to occupy my time. When he texts it just telling me what he’s doing but never asking about me, ever.

Actually, at that point in the relationship, she has nothing else to lose but to tell him what she wants and is looking for. If she doesn't, he will continue the dance of getting close then pulling away. If he grows up ( in a hurry) and identifies what he wants and if it is her, he'll face whatever fears or blockages he has and pursue the relationship fully. If he doesn't want the same thing, then he should back off and leave her alone for good or agree just to be friends.
